Our Training Philosophy
I use all four quadrants of operant conditioning, focusing on clear communication rather than confusion. While purely positive reinforcement has helped the training world recognize dogs as sentient beings, it doesn’t always provide the structure dogs need to navigate stress and challenges in real life.
At K9SOL, I teach dogs not just what to do, but also what not to do—helping them develop resilience and understanding through fair and humane training methods.
Training Methods & Tools
✔ Balanced Training – Using rewards, structure, and appropriate corrections for effective learning.
✔ Humane Use of Training Tools – Including buckle collars, martingale collars, prong collars, and low-stimulation e-collars.
✔ No-Pull Commitment – Harnesses are for pulling, not for training. I focus on proper leash manners with durable leather leashes.
✔ Owner Involvement – Owners must invest in the correct training collar, leash, treat pouch, and commit to training time.
